A Hellhound (sometimes referred to as The Bearer Of Death) is a supernatural dog with coal black fur, glowing red or yellow eyes, super speed and strength, ghostly or phantom characteristics, a foul odor of burning brimstone, sometimes leaving burning marks wherever it goes, razor sharp teeth and sometimes they are able to talk.
It is said, specifically in Europe, that if someone stares into the eyes of a Hellhound, or look into them three times then the person would die.
In some cultures, hellhounds have fire-based abilities and maybe even appearances, some also say that they guard the entrances to the world of the dead, for example a burial ground or a graveyard.
Seeing or hearing a hellhound may be a death omen, or a cause of death. Some supernatural dogs such as the Welsh Cwn Annwn were believed to be benign, but encountering them was still considered a sign right before death.
Hellhounds are called The Bearers Of Death because they were created by ancient Demons to serve as overviewers of death. How many Hellhounds to be seen differs between legends, for example some legends say if you see one Hellhound, you would surely die. While some other legends say you require to see three before death gets you.
Sightings of Hellhounds differ and have no pattern between destinations, some of the most recent places are Kentucky, Connecticut, Ohio, Louisiana, Germany and Vilseck.
Hellhounds are considered evil and vicious, this may not always be the case because some Hellhounds warn people of danger, protect others and help those who are about to pass.
