In Ancient Mayan Mythology, it is said that the Camazotz is pure evil and is as big as a male human, sometimes much larger and it is said that the Camazotz comes out at night to terrorize and suck the local people dry of blood. During the day, the Mayan people thought the Camazotz was existing somewhere else as a stone statue, thus assumed they were safe.
This creature has been accused of committing genocide against the Mayan people, and is said to kill both humans and animals.
In ancient Mayan Mythology, there were many Gods and Demons. The Gods protected the Mayan people from the Demons by trapping them in the underworld, otherwise known as Xibalba. In return for this protection, the Gods demanded sacrifices, usually involving blood or death of humans, when the Mayan people rejected the demands, the Gods unleashed this creature out of Xibalba and onto Earth. It is said that the Camazotz killed the entire Mayan population so the Gods can creature a new race of humans that will abide by their laws.
During his time in the Xibalba, the Camazotz battled against other demons that opposed him, and also prevented the Gods from entering the Xibalba by commanding troops in battle against the Gods.
